Other than that, we\’ve also seen some fresh faces in the Smartphone market, like a Nexus device from LG (while dumping the typical Samsung partnership), an iPhone with a dual colored back, modded ports, and larger display, and an Android Blackberry.
Even though we are almost halfway through the year, 2013 still has tons to offer and will be perhaps one of the best years for technology. A lot of new stuff are set to be released within this year, some confirmed while others are still tentative. In this article, we will discuss the most awaited gadgets that will undoubtedly shake the world of technology with new trends and ideas.
Since the release of Android last 2008, we have only seen one type of Google branded smartphone– Nexus. But this year, Google aims to up their game and has prepared something special for the masses, the Moto X. It is set to surface the market today, August 01, and thus we can imagine a lot of Android enthusiasts pumped.

The Moto X device will include typical Google branded features like being on the priority list for the latest updates and having the bottom three touch screen buttons. According to the pre-launch leaks, the device is expected to have an aluminum based structure, making it light weight, and a new type of screen called the “magic glass”, that is said to be a cut-off of the Gorilla glass display with some modifications, all for a reasonable price.
Gamers celebrate! The all-new “user focused, developer inspired” Playstation 4 will hit the stores sometime in the 4th quarter of 2013. But the excitement does not end there, along with the upcoming PS4 release are some classic games every hardcore gamer looks forward to, such as:

And to further enhance every gamer\’s experience comes the perfect partner for PS4, the DualShock 4 controller. Competitions have always made deals better for most consumers, and so to keep pace with PS4, Microsoft also decided to bring in its gaming giant branded as the Xbox One this 2013. The name of the new Xbox caught plenty of gamers unguarded. Everyone thought Microsoft would be using the 720 label or something along those lines. But no, the new Xbox\’s name is as simple as it is.

As announced, Microsoft\’s Xbox One will have pretty much the same specs as that of the PS4, the only difference of which is the absence of a hard disk in the former. Moreover, Xbox One will go beyond the gaming console boundary and will enable one to switch from television, to movies, to music, and to games. As Microsoft says it, “your experience is custom tailored to you.”
Right now, the smartphone market is unarguably dominated by two major players — Android and iOS. However, a game changer, in the form of the Ubuntu OS Smartphone, might just step in. Recently, Ubuntu started a fund raising campaign as it confirms its release. The prototype and OS for the Ubuntu Smartphone has already been rolling in the hands of the officials. However, in order to start large scale production, Ubuntu has asked interested buyers and prospect users to donate. And as soon as donations reach $32 million, Ubuntu Edge will be unleashed for public procurement.

The Ubuntu Edge Smartphone will come with multi-LTE antennas, 4 GB Ram, 128 GB of storage and a multiple-cored CPU. The campaign ends on August 21, this year, so, if you badly want this smartphone, you are very much welcome to cash in some bucks for the cause. As of today, only $7,089,259 has been collected.
Apple\’s iPhone and iPad products has been one of the most controversial brands in its respective categories. With Apple as its manufacturer, these products are known for its decent and efficient performance, elegant design, and above all, its price that has made these devices class indicators. But for the year 2013, aspiring iPhone users might rejoice, as Apple suggests an upcoming budget iPhone.

Leaks regarding this new iPhone release mention that the 5th installment of the product will come in two flavors– the budget smartphone, iPhone 5c, and normal iPhone 5 which follows the price tags of its predecessors. One can even argue that the “c” in the former model stands for cheaper. Funny this may be, but the prospect of releasing affordable iPhone 5s can be very tempting that even solid Android users might snag the offer. Apple fanatics and wannabe users have high hopes that iPhone 5c is due sometime in September.
So much is expected in the next release from the iPad series. It has always been on the peak of the tablet market domination and Apple continuously tries its best to hold this position for the longest that it can. Based on rumors, iPad 5 will have a 9.7 inch screen with a resolution similar to the previous models but in a much sleeker built than the iPad 4. Future buyers are eager for a high-end camera to be finally incorporated with the device and for other pleasant surprises that Apple might have in stored for those who wait.
The previous Galaxy Note release was way behind its competitors when it comes to resolution. Thus, to redeem itself, this year, Samsung plans to manufacture a pair of high-end notes, as leaked by evleaks on Twitter. According to evleaks, one model would be called the Galaxy Note P900 with 12.2 inches of display and 2560×1600 pixels of resolution along with an octo-core processor.
The other pair will be slightly smaller, about 10 inches screen display, can be aptly named as Note 3 Mini, and with a slower processor. However, Samsung is determined to maintain the 2560×1600 pixels of resolution in both models. Still, these specs are yet to be confirmed by Samsung, and Note fans might have to wait until the end of this year for its release.
