One of the most useful features in Windows is the flashing buttons and icons as they show you tasks that requires your immediate attention or they notify you with currently running applications or failed to run applications so you can take immediate actions, and though they’re very helpful it might be cumbersome and annoying for many as they interfere with your workflow and thus decreases your productivity.
This post will help you overcome the flashing taskbar icons and buttons problem and will present a step by step guide on how to disable this feature through editing the registry.
Step 1: In the start search bar / Cortana type run.
Step 2: The “run” window will pop up, in it type regedit and hit “Enter”.
Step 3: The registry window will pop up, navigate to the following destination in the left hand side menu; HKEY_CURRENT_USER → Control Panel → Desktop.
Step 4: In the right hand side menu find the “ForegroundFlashCount ” entry and double click it.
Step 5: A new window will pop up, in the value field type “0” then click on the “OK” tab.
