After more than decade long of waiting, finally, the remake is happening. I tried to muffle my scream of happiness when I first saw the trailer. Chills travelled all over my body, memories of my childhood flashing before me. This is every fan’s dream come true.

Final Fantasy 7 catapulted the franchise since its release back in 1997. With an amazing and complex story line, it is impossible not to get immersed in its world. The game gave a further in-depth focus of the characters through the release of Crisis Core, Advent Children, Before Crisis and Dirge of Cerberus.

The game play retained the franchise’s signature command style combat. New and more powerful summons were introduced, as well as, ultimate weapons for each characters. The materia system adds a lot of fun to the battle, making the character’s customisable with their skills and magic. Let us not forget the signature limit break. Each character has their own which can be unlocked by constantly using it or by acquiring an item. The challenging secret bosses and side quests completes the package, as well as, the fun mini games such as Chocobo racing and the snowboarding.

The music added a magical touch to the game. Each area has masterfully created theme music by composer Nobuo Uematsu. Every song impossible to forget, leaving a mark in the minds and hearts of its players.

The glimpse of the much awaited remake reveals a much improved world of Midgar. I am sincerely hoping that the revival of the franchise will stick to the core of the game. I wouldn’t want any change for the game except for the graphics, an improved battle system and more side quests. Everyone is looking forward to revisiting the world of Final Fantasy 7. I sincerely hope that Square Enix, once again leave us with an experience worth remembering for the rest of our gamers’ life.

Let the story remain untouched, let the magic leave us as awe-inspired as before and let the world of Final Fantasy etched a deeper joy in our hearts.
