For those of you that want to try out the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean can now do so with CyanogenMod 10.1. While CyanogenMod is one of the most popular aftermarket firmware ROMs around, it does come with a few warnings.
You will need a rooted device.
Flash ClockworkMod Recovery on your rooted device.
Download the following.
Place both files into the /sdcard directory of your device.
Boot your device into ClockworkMod Recovery by holding the Volume Up + Home + Power button simultaneously.
Backup your device using Nandroid.
Navigate to install zip from sdcard and choose zip from sdcard then select the CyanogenMod 10.1 zip file you downloaded earlier.
Repeat step 7 for GApps.
In ClockworkMod main menu, select wipe data / factory reset.
Once completed, choose to reboot system now.
If you have followed the steps correctly, you should boot right into CyanogenMod 10.1.
