Install Instant WordPress on Windows

WordPress is increasing in popularity as a content management system aka CMS, its highly flexible , customizable and very easy to use. Many webmasters are interested in installing WordPress on their personal computer to locally develop the website and see the modifications before going live with it. There are many ways by which WordPress could be installed on Windows machines for local development; Bitnami, XAMPP and WAMP are some of the most common methods used.

This post will present a different way by which you can install WordPress on Windows computers for local development the method will rely on Instant WordPress to complete the installation. The advantage of this method is that Instant WordPress doesn’t create a registry entry during the installation so you can run your development WordPress website even from a USB drive through simply copying and pasting it to the USB drive. In this post you’ll be presented by a step by step guide on how to do that.

Step One: First you will need to download Instant WordPress from here.

Step Two: After downloading the file, start installing it, first you’ll be asked where you want to install it, select the location where you want you want to install the application and WordPress.

Step Three: After finishing the installation process, open the application from the directory where you’ve downloaded it.

Step Four: After opening InstantWP you’ll be prompted by the following window, just click on the WordPress FrontPage blue tab.

Step Five: After clicking on the WordPress FrontPage blue tab you’ll be directed to your WordPress as seen below. Congratulations here is your newly launched website.

Final Thoughts

To access the plugins, just click on the blue plugins folder tab and you’ll b e directed to the folder where the plugins are installed and where you can add additional plugins, the same goes for the themes.
