Woven by Joss Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen and Jed Whedon, Agents of Shield continues where the first Avengers left off. The series focuses on the story of the underdogs – the ones without the superpowers and how they will face with the world riddled by superheroes.
Mozilla’s Tantrum Over Competition. Why Be Better When You Can Finger Point Instead?
It is popular sport for anybody that likes or develops an opposing technology to take a swing at Microsoft. I’m not claiming that they never deserve it. Quite often they do. But I’m not blind enough to jump on the bandwagon every time some organization is in a tizzy over something Microsoft did. Microsoft has clearly made design decisions that affect user choice.
Ram Optimizers and Task Killers: Snake Oil for Ram
Why do people buy fast and powerful devices and then insist on obsessing over how many apps are open? I had to address this because the amount of ignorance when it comes to how RAM actually works and how our computers and devices utilize it is astounding. The existence of task killers, memory optimizers, and open app widgets is owed in part to user FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt).
The Cold (Internet) War
With the dawn of a new, imminent era brought by the Internet, it was clear to many that the Cold War was only going to continue. However, while not as serious nowadays, the Cold War is still a thing but the game has changed. While a few decades back, governments of the world used to throw spies around to gather information, now they can gather all they want from their homes, with a few clicks. Of course, spies still exist today, but I bet they’re a bit jealous on what skilled hackers can do.
Wi-Fi Sense. Great New Feature or Security Risk?
Windows 10 has a shiny new feature called Wi-Fi Sense. As with anything new in technology there is some confusion and misinformation regarding this new feature. There are sure to be hoaxes, rumors, and bad information accepted by the ignorant as fact over this one. I wouldn’t call it controversy just yet but I can see it getting turned into one when it doesn’t need to be. They “Don’t Confuse Me with Facts” crowd seems to be getting larger and louder no thanks to social media. With Wi-Fi Sense you can automatically log friends onto your Wi-Fi network without giving up your password.
CyanogenMod Surpasses Windows Mobile and Blackberry Users Combined
Cyanogen, creators of the most popular Android ROM, have recently announced that they have just hit the 50 million user barrier, surpassing Windows Phone and Blackberry numbers combined. Adnan Begovic, a popular Cyanogen employee, has dropped this bombshell at the Seattle Code Rush, where he blew everyone’s minds with this amazing accomplishment. The news is even more surprising when you take into account that CyanogenMod isn’t even a standalone platform, but a modified version of Android.
Google Loses Data after Lightning Strikes
Sometimes, Acts of God are bizarre and that is what happened recently when a storm struck Ghislain in Belgium. Lightning struck the same place, not once, but four times near a data center owned by Google. Following the storm, Google experienced heavy read / write errors between 13 Aug to 17-Aug, 2015, and a small data loss at its Google Compute Engine Data Center in the europe-west1-b zone. What was it that they said? Lightning does not strike twice?
