Why Should I Use Side Loading?
Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD was considered to be amongst the best budget tablets around. It offers awesome specifications along with a stunning 7 inch IPS display with anti glare technology and an impressive build quality designed with EBook readers in mind.
The Amazon Kindle Fire HD also offers a lot of applications from its very own application store. But there is one problem when it comes to apps, Kindle Fire does not natively allow third party applications to be installed. Naturally being an Android device it would be a massive let down if you missed out on so many new applications that come out on Google almost regularly, so in order to do that you must side load these applications into your Kindle Fire device.
What Is Side Loading and How Does It Work?
Well Side loading applications onto your Amazon Kindle Fire HD, It’s simply installing non-Amazon applications onto your tablet. So basically if you want to install an application that is unfortunately not available in the Amazons official store, you will need to find a workaround that will allow you to install any application you want from Google without any restrictions.
Okay So How Do I Do It?
First you must allow your Kindle Fire device to install the applications you want, in order to do this open up the Settings. Slide upwards to see the options and tap on device. Then under the ‘Allow installation of Applications” change it to ON.
Now that you have the permission to install third party applications, you need to download a third party android based application of your choice. You can either search for the .apk file for your phone or download using other application stores. Simply open the Web on your Kindle Fire HD and type in one of the websites and then you can navigate around the website and download your desired application, though keep in mind some of the sites will require you to have own an account from them before doing so, but most of them are free. Also, registering on these sites only require your email address and basic details.
Once done you can download applications from there directly though Wi-Fi is recommended if you plan to download applications that are bigger than average in size, such as HD games
Assuming that you have now downloaded your desired application you are now ready to install it. When the download is complete simply tap the file. You will now see an option to install the application, tap the ‘install’ option and the application will start to install all by itself.
Depending on your applications size it may take less than a minute or several minutes. When completed you can either choose to open the application you just installed or tap done and install another one. So with that you have now successfully side loaded an application on your Amazon Kindle Fire device, you can now follow the this process and install as many third party applications as you want on your Amazon Kindle Fire.
